One of the Annual Dutch RT meetings

Yesterday was our yearly DUTCH RT Forum meeting and in spite of the bad weather along the way and at some parts of the tour, we had well over 130 bikes turn up for the get-together, subsequent tour and (inside) barbecue. Due to time constraints I only did half of the actual tour and after having a late lunch I returned to the starting point with some of the organizers. Riding back took us through one horrendous hail storm… I was afraid the stones might chip off the paint of my Schuberth !!!   We were just about to pull over…

BMW RT1200 2014

Some lucky fellow found the new, but camouflaged, RT’s on Teneriffe of all places. Dunno if 2014 will be 2013 even? With all the silly stickers on them, the new form is hard to make out – which is why they do it – but nice to watch nonetheless. We are getting ready for the 5th RT Treffen here in Holland, next Sunday, with almost 200 RT’s meeting up for a tour ! Maybe see you there !

We’re off to the States

Yes, and sooner than expected. When we did our wonderful Florida Trip back in 2007, followed by our visit of Seattle and Vancouver, we didn’t expect to ‘be back ‘ so soon. Although, soon….. it’s been 3 years already since our wonderful meetings with BMW riders (and fellow pilots). This time we’re heading off to Aruba first, to celebrate Vivian’s birthday there. After that it’s off to Florida for a few days (family and business), and then on to Seattle again where our friends Della and Barry are waiting for us. We’ll hop into Alaska together and do some flying…

New Touring Partner Added!

Due-South is our latest Motor Touring Partner, added just a week ago. Due-South is run by Joe Visser and is a South-African motorcycle touring company. Joe has pretty much the same ideas about what a good, but small motor company should be and do as we have! His company offers guided, road based motorcycle tours using BMW motorcycles (BMW R 1200 GS, BMW F 650 GS series) in and around Southern Africa.
