The good news: WINTER IS OVER ! You may think “well, duh!” But really, this winter has been the longest for many decades and although I have been riding our GS in France a few times along snow lined mountain roads, and the RT here in Holland in between frost periods, last week was the FIRST time THIS YEAR that Nina and I mounted up and rode along the West-Frisian country roads again! Being one of the first users of Paper.li, the Swiss attempt at making automated, curated on-line newspapers, we have the ‘EuropeRides MotorMag’ appear twice daily. The way it works is that it crawls through many thousands Twitter and Facebook pages and accounts that WE have liked, and picks up the articles on topics we indicate. Once in a while we also add other articles that we find. We haven’t upgraded the mag to ‘Pro’ status yet, since we don’t have much money to spare, but it is interesting in its present form already. Hotel Belvédère on the Pt. Saint Bernard Pass road
On the main connection between France and Italy in the eastern Alps, connecting the French Tarantaise region with the Italian Aosta Valley, lies this wonderfully equipped, motor-friendly hotel ! As you may remember, Nina and I checked them out earlier this year to get them their Motorrad-Tourer certificate of quality.
