And before you leave, be sure to also check my daily update eMagazine EuropeRides MotorMag with all the latest news on motorcycling, motorsport and the occasional car news
What with the harsh winter weather hitting most of Europe, we see an unrelenting stream of hits on our modest website. People looking for information on the Road Conditions in the various European countries. So we added Austria as well as some General Information for you. Now we cover most of the ‘important’ traffic countries in Europe, those with the most cars and visitors. With the Christmas and Skijng holidays starting, we hope there will be snow, but preferably not on the roads. Wishing all readers Merry Christmas and a Happy 2011 and Safe Riding/Driving !
What with the ‘bad’ Winter Weather here in Europe, we notice that our site gets LOTS of hits. Apparently you are looking for the conditions of the roads in many places, and we have LINKS to most of that for many European countries. So even if there’s not a lot of news on our own tours – we DO hope the US economy gets back on track soon! – at least the site serves a purpose in THAT sense. By the way, I am also constantly adding content to the site, here and there, so it is always a…
Yes, and sooner than expected. When we did our wonderful Florida Trip back in 2007, followed by our visit of Seattle and Vancouver, we didn’t expect to ‘be back ‘ so soon. Although, soon….. it’s been 3 years already since our wonderful meetings with BMW riders (and fellow pilots). This time we’re heading off to Aruba first, to celebrate Vivian’s birthday there. After that it’s off to Florida for a few days (family and business), and then on to Seattle again where our friends Della and Barry are waiting for us. We’ll hop into Alaska together and do some flying…
Not much riding news posted currently, and most of you will know WHY by now. We were hacked by Russian cyber criminals and I had to take many of my websites offline to clean and resurrect them. EuropeRides was one of them. We’re back on-line now and hopefully I’ll be able to get the travel forum back too, somehow. We ARE in France yet again and we ARE riding here, so there is stuff to tell you and show you….. as soon as I have the time again! Thanks for your patience and apologies for the time lost. Francois.
Nina and I just returned from a 6-day trip to Umbria in Italy and found the roads to be as bad as ever. Should you be planning a ride into Umbria in Italy, then be advised that even the main through roads there are in very bad shape. The province doesn’t have money and most main roads are littered with potholes, only with some tar poured in here and there….. which with air temps of 40C an more is quickly coming out again! The Dolomiti roads (Alto Adige and Friuli) and Toscany roads are in much better shape. We would…
Check out the ‘Fuel Info’ tab under Road Info. I have added more links to sites about fuel prices in Europe. I will continue to add interesting sites. Some are in local language, but most have some way of entering a city or region and will then show pumps and prices. Check back regularly for more new!
